15 Million Motorcycles


The latest figures on the number of motor vehicles in Taiwan have been released by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS). As of April 2013, there are 15.09 million motorcycles, or 67.6 per 100 people. That's 419.3 scooters for every square kilometer. In Taipei, there are 41.1 scooters for every 100 people, the lowest figure for any region in Taiwan. Kaohsiung has the highest rate, at 82.1 motorcycles per 100 people.
